1 – The Saint-Jean-de-Monts market

Every Wednesday and Saturday morning, the Saint-Jean-de-Monts market comes alive.   Located in the heart of the city, it attracts locals and tourists alike. You will find everything there:  

  • Fresh fruits and vegetables
  • Fish fresh out of water
  • Regional cheeses
  • Even clothes and accessories

  It is the ideal place to immerse yourself in the local atmosphere during your vacation in Saint-Jean-de-Monts.  By the way, don’t miss the oysters from Bourgneuf Bay and the buckwheat pancakes prepared on site. A treat!

2 – The Noirmoutier-en-l’île market

In Noirmoutier-en-l’Île , the market takes place every Friday. It is one of the most beautiful markets in Vendée, located on the island of Noirmoutier.   You will be charmed by its colorful stalls and exceptional local products , notably the famous Noirmoutier potatoes.   If you have the chance, try the delicious biscuits from the Biscuiterie de l’Île and stop by the fishmongers to buy some freshly caught pink shrimp .

3 – The Sables d’Olonne market

Every day in summer and on Wednesday and Saturday mornings the rest of the year, the Sables d’Olonne market awaits you.   Located in the Chaume district, this market is renowned for its friendly and festive atmosphere. You will find many local products, flowers , craft objects and much more.

4 – The most famous market in Vendée: the Challans market

The Challans market is the unmissable event on Tuesday, Friday and Saturday mornings. It is the largest market in Vendée , and it attracts thousands of visitors every week.   Sample the region’s dairy products , including yogurts and goat cheeses, which are truly to die for.

5 – The market of Saint-Gilles-Croix-de-Vie

On Wednesday and Saturday mornings, the Saint-Gilles-Croix-de-Vie market is set up on the seafront. It is a real pleasure to stroll among the stalls with the sea breeze in the background.  We recommend you try the grilled sardines, a specialty of the city, and accompany them with good country bread.

6 – The market of La Tranche-sur-Mer

Finally, the La Tranche-sur-Mer market takes place every Tuesday and Saturday morning.
