A campsite created by Vendée enthusiasts

The history of the Tropicana campsite began several years ago, thanks to a slightly crazy idea from us, the founders .   We have always been passionate about nature , the sea and especially the Vendée ! The idea of opening a campsite had been on our minds for a while. We wanted to create a place where holidaymakers could fully enjoy the beauty of the region , while feeling at home.  At the beginning, we didn’t have much, just a piece of land and our heads full of dreams.  But we had a clear idea: a family campsite, warm and friendly . A place where people come to relax, have fun, and leave with their pockets full of memories and stars in their eyes. That’s how the story of the campsite began!

The beginning of the story of a family campsite

Once we found our land ( 800 meters from the beach, who can beat that?), we had to start somewhere. The first spades were broken with a lot of excitement… and a little stress, we’re not going to lie to you.   The challenge was great, but we were ready. Little by little, the project took shape.   We started with a few pitches for tents and caravans , nothing too extravagant.   But we already wanted to offer something different: space , comfort , and above all, a unique atmosphere.   Because even if we wanted vacationers to feel at home, we also wanted to offer them that little extra luxury that makes all the difference.   A stay with a well-deserved rest, for everyone!

The first summer at Tropicana: a vacation that reflects us!

The following summer, we were ready to welcome our first vacationers . It was both a moment of pride and panic.   Was it going to work? Would people like it?  Fortunately, from the first year, the bookings came thick and fast. The proximity to the beautiful beach of Saint-Jean-de-Monts and the concept of supreme comfort appealed to families and groups of friends !  We won’t hide from you that this first summer was intense. Between the last-minute adjustments and the unexpected , we had a few cold sweats.   But every smile, every burst of laughter around the pool or at the barbecue reminded us why we had embarked on this adventure.

A family campsite which is celebrating its 5th star today

Over time, the Tropicana grew.   We added fully equipped mobile homes , chalets , and even cottages for those who wanted a little more luxury. We also enlarged the swimming pool (because here, we know that after the beach, nothing beats a good dip!).  And then, the campsite has evolved, always listening to your feedback. We have added services , entertainment , a wellness area … Everything to make your holiday perfect.   It is thanks to you that we were able to obtain our famous 5 stars. It is a great recognition of all the work provided, but above all a promise of quality for you, our vacationers .

What makes us most proud is the family spirit that reigns at Tropicana. From the beginning, we wanted this campsite to be a place of sharing and meetings .   Every summer, it’s a real pleasure to see children making friends at the swimming pool , parents chatting over an aperitif, and even grandparents taking part in the activities!   We are also lucky to work with a great team. Some members of the team have been there since the beginning, and others have joined us along the way.   But they all share this desire to make the Tropicana a unique place, where everyone feels good.
